USF to feature renowned artist Jim Dine in upcoming events

August 8, 2022

The University of Saint Francis will celebrate renowned American artist Jim Dine with an art exhibition, the President’s Art Gala and a Closer Look Lecture.

Dine, 87, rose to prominence as a performance artist with the “Happenings,” which also linked him to the establishment of pop art. Since the 1970s, he has defied categorization and created a body of work that includes drawings, paintings, photographs, assemblages and sculpture. He has collaborated with master printmakers and created over 3,000 unique prints. The exhibition will include prints by Dine that span more than six decades.

Here are the upcoming events celebrating Dine’s unique talent and contribution to art:

Jim Dine Exhibition: “Vocabulary of Metaphors”
