The University of Saint Francis congratulates the winners of its “Vision 2050: Imagine Our Future” campus redesign competition.

Ball State University architecture student Jeffrey Tompkins wins the $1,000 Grand Prize for his submission redesigning what the USF campus could look like in 2050.

USF Assistant Director of Student Engagement Alec DeVries and University of Notre Dame student Nathan Walz receive $500 Honorable Mention awards. USF first revealed the winners in an April meeting of the board of trustees. The competition was open to USF students, faculty and staff, and the public.

“Congratulations to Jeffrey, Alec and Nathan for their fascinating submissions. They created innovative, intricate, and thought-provoking redesigns. We look forward to seeing how many of their ideas come to fruition over the nearly three decades ahead,” said USF President Rev. Dr. Eric Albert Zimmer.

Common redesign ideas among the proposals submitted included a more comprehensive student life center, campus environmental initiatives, and contemporary/spiritually focused academic buildings and residence halls. The Vision 2050 competition committee offers its appreciation to those who shared their ideas for the redesign.
