USF announces 20th Anniversary Presidential Gala

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis will hold its 20th Anniversary Presidential Gala from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center.

The event is presented by new USF President Rev. Dr. Eric Albert Zimmer and USF Creative Arts and is sponsored by 3Rivers Federal Credit Union. The Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center is located off Leesburg Road on the southeast side of campus, 2701 Spring St.

The event begins with a meet-and-greet with Fr. Zimmer from 6 to 7 pm. in the John P. Weatherhead Gallery. Rosalind and the Way will perform live music throughout the evening. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available. This event is part of the celebration of Fr. Zimmer becoming president, which will include his inauguration on Sept. 26.

The 20th Anniversary Exhibition will be held Aug. 3 through Sept. 20 at the Weatherhead Gallery. This celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Rolland Center will feature works from past gala exhibitions. Several works are part of the university’s art collection, which serves as a dynamic resource for students and the community. Other works will be by invited artists, including Holly Roberts, a mixed-media artist from New Mexico, who has gifted 14 works to the university.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Galleries will be closed Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5-7.
