November 26, 2019
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis recently received confirmation of continued accreditation for its nursing programs.
The baccalaureate program in nursing has received accreditation for the next 10 years and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program has received accreditation for the next five years, both of which are the maximum length of time that can be awarded.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the University of Saint Francis are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
The CCNE granted accreditation to the baccalaureate program in nursing, extending to Dec. 31, 2029. It is determined effective from March 6, 2019, which was the first day of the program’s recent CCNE on-site evaluation. The DNP program received accreditation for five years, extending to Dec. 31, 2024, also effective from March 6, 2019.
“Both accreditation results for the BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and DNP programs are just another indication of the highly skill and dedicated program directors and faculty the University of Saint Francis has within the Department of Nursing,” said Dr. Angie Harrell, dean of the School of Health Sciences. “These results help to solidify the hard work that is put in to ensure that our nursing programs are providing the highest quality educational experiences for our students.”
