June 11, 2019
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis was awarded a $10,150 Nurse Anesthetist Traineeship (NAT) grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), a division of Health and Human Services, for its Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) program.
Funds will be used for 2019-20 traineeships for second- and third-year students in the USF CRNA program. This is the second consecutive year that the program has received the grant. The inaugural CRNA class began classes in fall 2017.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this financial support to our students with the help of the NAT grant,” said CRNA Program Director Dr. Lisa Osborne. “Any additional support USF can offer to students while immersed in this intensive course of study assists in their success.”
These CRNA traineeships are supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $10,150 with no percentage financed with nongovernmental sources.
