USF Launching New Pre-Law Program
February 23, 2017
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The University of Saint Francis is launching a new Political Science—Pre-Law program. Students may enroll now for this program, which will begin classes in fall 2017.
The program combines a strong political science core with law-related electives in a variety of other disciplines. Law impacts many different fields, and this program is designed to accommodate a variety of academic interests.
Program Director Dr. Thomas Schneider explains, “Students will learn how governments operate, but they will also learn how law affects people’s lives outside the context of politics.”
Chris Nancarrow, president of the St. Thomas More Society of Fort Wayne, is enthusiastic about the creation of a local Pre-Law program. “Understanding the Pre-Law program is rooted in the Catholic and Franciscan traditions of Faith and Reason will not only provide the best of attributes of an academic program, but also an education that holds to the life, example and teachings of St. Thomas More himself as the patron saint of lawyers, judges and elected officials. The Society looks forward to a collaborative effort between program students and the local bar and bench in an effort to help provide not only an invaluable educational experience, but also an experiential opportunity that is grounded in both the law and ethics.”
